What is Ecosia?
Ecosia is a web browser extension that helps the environment by planting trees every time a user searches for anything on it by typing something into the search bar. Ecosia has 20M+ users, with an estimated amount of 105,000+ searches per second.
What makes Ecosia so important?
Ecosia is significant because we search on google every day and many times, meaning that even from one person in a normal day atleast 4 trees can be planted, and think about how many people have downloaded Ecosia- that's 80 million trees a day.
How does Ecosia work?
In normal browsers like Google, they gain large amounts of profits per search with adverts, but the difference between any other browser and Ecosia is that Ecosia donates 100% of their profits to planting trees rather than pocketing the money. They then plant their trees in countries across the globe, from Peru to Indonesia!
